Boat sails overland from Amboise to Chisseaux

  From a report in La Nouvelle République:

The L'Ambacia, which has spent the last two seasons at Amboise is moving to Chisseaux on the Cher replacing Le Bélandre, which after a number of years based at Chisseaux was recently moved to the Charente as work on the barrages on the Cher badly disrupted its season. Unlike Le Bélandre, L'Ambacia has no restaurant, although passengers will be able to taste local specialities.

La fin d'une courte histoire. Pendant deux saisons L'Ambacia, bateau amarré au pied du château, a promené les touristes en amont de la ville.

This was when our village was flooded, not because of the Claise bursting its banks but due to the vast amount of water pouring down the hill and having nowhere to go.

It was also in the same week as the Vouvray storm on the Saturday right at the end of May 2008.
